You can't just compare the tax rates. Also have to look at what was deductible from gross income before those tax rates were applied. It wasn't that long ago you could deduct the interest you paid on your credit cards and auto loans.

"It is also illegal for doctors to perform abortions after a pregnancy has reached 24 weeks, unless the mother's life is at risk." 24 weeks is 5-1/2 months. So it's legal to perform abortions on mothers who are late in their second trimester? That is murder.
